Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends Soul gospel Jazz and R&B in a signature mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and was a pianist. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan; it has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become an essential part of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the another soundtrack on which she sang. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) offered her the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
