Queen Latifah
Dana Elaine Owens better known by her stage name Queen Latifah, is an American musician, actress, and rapper. The work of Queen Latifah in television, film and in music has earned numerous awards. They include a Golden Globe Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards Two Image Awards A Grammy Award Six additional Grammy Nominations Emmy Award Nomination and an Academy Award. Queen Latifah was born in Newark, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Rita Owens, Sr. and Lancelot Owens Jr. The couple split at the age of Latifah, then ten years aged, was 10 years old. Latifah went to Catholic school and received her education within Newark New Jersey. She attended in the Baptist church. When she was 8 Her cousin gifted her stage names Latifah that means tender and gentle in Arabic. Latifah's 5'10" height made her a powerful forward during high school. The play she played in her high school she performed "Home" from The Wiz. Latifah started to beatbox for the group known as Ladies Fresh. Latifah became part of in the Flavor Unit in its original version, made up of an MC team with producer DJ Mark The 45 King. Mark James, aka DJ Mark the45 King recorded Queen Latifah's rap Princess of the Posse. He gave the recording to host Yo! MTV Raps Faddy. Dante Ross of Tommy Boy Music has signed Latifah following her hearing of the song. She released her first single Wrath of My Madness, in 1988.
